How to find RCU
Railway Station - Preston
This is the easiest way to get to RCU as Preston Town Centre has some complex one-way systems and Buckingham House has no visitor parking. Come straight out of the front of the station past the taxi rank, with County Hall in front of you. Turn right at the top and follow the main shopping street (Fishergate) past Debenhams (on right), Marks and Spencers (left) and Boots (right). Just past Boots, turn right at Past Times into Glovers Court and walk under the 'Booths Arch'. Buckingham House is on the left opposite the Wellington Inn pub and RCU is on the second floor (right hand door). It takes about 15 minutes on foot.
By car from M6 Junction 31
Follow signs into Preston past the Tickled Trout Hotel (right) and up Brockholes Brow (speed camera at the top). Continue straight on at the roundabout and follow New Hall Lane until you come to a t-junction with traffic lights opposite Homebase. Turn left then immediate right and follow Queens Street over a mini roundabout and a pedestrian crossing until you see signs for Avenham Car Park (pay and display). Come out of the car park facing Lava ignite nightclub. Ignore the small alley (Main Sprit Weind) but pick up the next street to your left which is Glovers Court. Buckingham House is half-way up on the right, opposite Wellington Inn Pub. RCU is on the second floor (right hand door).
By car from M6 Junction 29 and Preston Park and Ride
Follow signs for A6 to Preston Centre, along a dual carriageway. After several roundabouts turn left at the traffic lights marked Park and Ride (behind Retail Park) and follow signs to the parking area. Parking is free and low cost buses leave every 10-15 minutes for the Centre. On leaving the bus cross the road bearing left then turn right into Church Street passing Millers Arcade on your right. Cross over and turn left into Glovers Court in between Waterstones and Past Times then walk under the 'Booths Arch'. Buckingham House is on the left opposite the Wellington Inn pub and RCU is on the second floor (right hand door).
