Perceptions Research

All our independent surveys can be linked to other data to provide greater insight into the perceptions of your local community, including employers, students and parents and other influential stakeholders.

What do key influencers and local stakeholders think of your college?

We offer a range of independent surveys which will be linked to other local data to provider a greater insight into perceptions of your college.

Our local perceptions surveys include:

  • Pupils and Parents Perceptions Survey;
  • Employer Surveys;
  • Key Stakeholder Surveys;
  • Applicant Non Arrival Surveys;
  • Early Leavers Surveys.

We have carried out perceptions surveys for many years to determine views of the breadth and quality of post-16 options available in a locality, likely and preferred progression routes, the influence of travel on the decision as well as perceptions of the quality and reputation of post-16 providers to which pupils can progress.

These surveys can determine the most important features young people and their parents or other local stakeholders look for when deciding on, or recommending a post-16 provider and how well your college rates against other providers in the area on the features identified.

Perceptions Research

Our Methodology

We recommend that this type of research is conducted primarily through either an online or CATI survey or via a pre-organised and structured in-depth interview.

We will design the initial survey and interview scripts in consultation with the college and agree the most relevant survey sample to be contacted.

On completion of the survey we will analyse all the responses, linking to other available data where relevant (such as the Indices of Multiple Deprivation, School and College Performance Tables or College supplied ILR) and produce an informed written report for your college.
