RCU - Research and Consultancy in Education

We also asked RCU to undertake some market research in the context of a cultural development for arts in the city when we were looking at market demand, market need, market intelligence for arts provision in the city, the region and beyond. That research was commissioned by Plymouth College of Art, by the city, by the University of Plymouth. It provided a very substantial evidence base to enable better strategic planning for the college, a better understanding of the market and the way the market was going.

The thing that has always struck me in the work that we’ve done with RCU is the empirical evidence base, the detailed analysis and the absolute clarity of presentation.  It very clearly helps colleges to identify strategic drivers to move things forward.

Another project that we’ve recently been involved in was a staff survey. We wanted to measure how well the college was doing against a broader group of colleges. I spoke to my colleagues in the Association of Specialist Colleges for Art and Design and to re-confirm that RCU was our preferred provider for a staff survey. The staff survey was efficient, effective, it provided a benchmark and importantly within the costs, it also included a presentation to the whole College, of the survey findings, thus maintaining the integrity of an open way of communicating with staff, about things that were working well and also, things that weren’t working so well.

So, why do we keep going back to using RCU? I believe as an organisation that works with and supports entirely the needs of the sector, RCU is second to none.
