Latest Higher Education Data Now included in Vector

We’re delighted to introduce the latest Higher Education data update to the popular Vector insight tool for Colleges. This update combines the 2018/19 year-end ILR and HESA data together to present an up to date and detailed picture of local higher education provision.

With over half of FE Colleges in England using Vector, we are pleased to be supporting the sector with valuable insight and evidence and enabling colleges to better plan their HE portfolio and ensure that it is meeting the needs of the local community.

Vector enables colleges to explore the size and profile of the local HE market, providing information on the number of students who choose to take higher education courses at their local FE College compared to universities or other providers, and what the most popular qualification types, subjects and courses are.

With this insight, every college has the ability to review their current presence within the higher education space and can directly compare their recruitment and curriculum offer to that of other colleges and Universities also recruiting locally.

Vector also allows colleges to directly compare their recruitment from deprived areas and from those students typically under-represented in higher education with Universities and other colleges. This type of data is particularly important given the focus of the Office for Students on ensuring that all students, regardless of their background, are able to access high quality higher education.

In addition to the HE data update, we have also updated the Achievement Rate date presented in Vector using the latest DfE National Achievement Rate Tables (NART) released in March 2020.  This is now incorporated within the 16-19 learners, adult learners and apprenticeships modules.

If you have any questions about Vector or the latest data update, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
