We hope you are all keeping well and safe at this challenging time.
As many of you may know the annual AoC Beacon Awards ceremony was initially planned to be held in London on 21st April but unfortunately this was unable to go ahead due to Covid 19 restrictions.
However, we are delighted to announce that the wonderful AoC Beacon Awards team have managed to pull together a virtual Awards Announcement Celebration Day which is scheduled to be held on Thursday 4th June, and delivered via the Association of College’s social media channels and their new Beacon Awards website www.collegeawards.co.uk dedicated to all of the finalists and their successes.
RCU have sponsored the AoC Beacon Awards for the past couple of years and we are really pleased to be in a position to help promote and celebrate the best and most innovative practice among UK further education colleges and their amazing and dedicated staff. This year, across the 8 Beacon Award categories, there were a total of 130 entries sent in from over 100 colleges which is testament to the popularity of the Beacon Awards.
The three college finalists for the 2019/20 RCU Support for Students Award are Abingdon & Witney College, the Grimsby Institute and Preston’s College and we look forward to finding out who the winner is during the virtual awards ceremony on 4th June.
Until then, all the very best to you all.
Chris
